Terms of use
Last updated 20 October 2026
By using Synthesis (synthesis.cool) you agree to these terms. They are short because the app is simple: it is free, and it explains openly licensed research papers in plain language.
The explanations are AI-written
An AI model writes every explanation, summary, analogy, answer and narration from a paper's abstract. They are checked by automated rules, but they can still be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and the abstract itself may not tell the whole story. Always read the original paper before relying on a result.
Nothing in Synthesis is medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. Do not make decisions about your health or anyone else's based on it.
The papers and their licences
Every paper belongs to its authors and publishers. Synthesis uses an abstract only when its licence allows reuse, credits it wherever its text appears, and links to the original. Reusing a paper's text, or an explanation of it, follows that paper's licence.
Using the app
- Use it for reading, learning and sharing links. That is what it is for.
- Do not scrape it at scale, automate questions to bypass the daily limit, try to break its security, or use it for anything unlawful.
- Signing in is optional and uses your Google account, which you are responsible for. You can delete your Synthesis account at any time from the menu.
No guarantees
Synthesis is provided as it is, free of charge, without any warranty. Features may change, and the service may pause or stop. To the extent the law allows, Synthesis is not liable for any loss that comes from using it or relying on its explanations.
Privacy, changes and contact
The privacy policy explains what the app collects. If these terms change, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. Questions: [email protected].
